Jajira Fort is present in the tangible village near Raigad in Konkan, Maharashtra. Jazeera is an Arabic word meaning island. This fort is a fort located in the Arabian Sea, which no one from Shivaji Mughal to British could win. This fort was built in this way. We have met many times to occupy it, but no one could enter it. This 350 year old fort is also known by the name of Ajinkya which literally means Ajay.
The door of the Murud-jajira fort is built in this way. Which stops visible due to walls when going a few meters away from the fort. It is said that this is the reason that the enemies were deceived and could not enter the fort for not getting the door for it.
This fort is surrounded by 40 feet high walls on an island in the Arabian Sea. This fort was built in the 15th century under the supervision of Ambar, the owner of the Ahmednagar Sultanate. Fishermen built this fort with wood called Medicot on a rockrock to protect themselves from pirates. The chief of the fishermen Ram Patil took permission from Nizam Shah of the Ahmednagar Sultanate to build this fort.
After the fort was built, the Sultanate's policeman asked to vacate the fort and the fishermen protested. After this, the commander of Ahmednagar, Bairam Khan, became a businessman, arrived with three ships full of soldiers and captured the fort. After this, Burhan Khan, the new commander of the Ahmednagar Sultanate, got rid of the law code made of wood and built this fort with stones. It is said that this fort was completed in 22 years, which is spread over 22 acres. It has 22 security checkpoints. Many historians say that it was tried by the British Portuguese and many Marathas to win it. But no one won. In this fort, there are still many gifts of Siddiqui rulers, which are under the supervision of security today.
For this fort, 20 Siddiqui rulers ruled. The last ruler was Siddiqui Mohammad Khan. The fortress of Jazeera Fort, which was included in the Indian border on April 3, 1948 after 330 years, is very powerful. There are a total of 3 doors, two main doors and one small door. The door of this fort has been prepared with a very mind. Their beauty is also very amazing. After seeing this, everyone becomes happy.
There is a big park in the middle of this fort and there are also 2 big water tanks. Earlier there was a sea for this. After the end of the Rajpat, the entire colony moved from there. This is the only fort on the west coast of India that was never won by enemies. This fort is 350 years old. Which has a freshwater lake. Despite being in the middle of the salt water of the sea, it contains sweet water. After all, this water comes from where no one knows anything. There is also a tomb of Shah Baba for this. The fort or fort in the Arabian Sea is 90 feet above sea level. This fort was earlier knownknown as the capital of the Siddiquis of Janjira.
